Nine ways to use digital signage in your school

Digital signage is a great way to keep your school community informed and aware of key information. Most schools have screens placed at strategic points around the building to catch the eye of passers by or those sitting in communal spaces.

There are so many ways to use digital signage. Below are just a few suggestions:

1. Welcome message
What better way to ensure that everyone who enters your school feels welcomed and valued

2. Highlight upcoming events
Make sure everyone is aware of upcoming events. Improve attendance and engagement in extra-curricular activities and wider school events

3. Display the lunch menu
Who doesn't want to know what is for lunch today? Maximise the number of students taking advantage of a balanced and nutritious meal at lunch time

4. Show upcoming calendar events
Serves to remind everyone of upcoming whole-school events

5. Play short videos
Short videos are a perfect medium to capture the attention of passers by and to relate rich information in super quick time

6. Celebrate achievements
What better way to build the self-esteem of students and build a strong sense of community than to celebrate success on screens displayed around school

7. Room allocations
Avoid confusion and direct people to the correct rooms with minimum fuss

8. Film showing in the film club
Just one of the many applications of digital signage to highlight events and inform them of important details

9. Parents evening information
Create signs specifically to welcome parents and showcase the brilliant work you do in your school!

Digital signage is now included as standard as part of your My Learning Fusion Platform. It is super easy to create signs and display them on any screen around school. Go ahead... give it a go!

New release - Fusion V2 - Overview

My Learning's Fusion Platform
V 2.0 'Whirlpool'

The latest release for My Learning's Fusion platform includes a fantastic, parent communication Centre, providing push notifications to parents at no additional cost.

We are also delighted to announce the new Markbook.

The MarkBook

For some time, ML Fusion have been working on a central statistics engine which can gather and report all learning and assessment results within the product. Indeed, this is a key aspect of the reason that My Learning has created the “Fusion” product. The new Markbook will allow ALL student’s grading results gathered from Forms, Homework, Tasks and Quizzes to be reported upon centrally within the Markbook. Even more importantly, this new feature also allows teachers to enter manual marks for any type of work or assessment, much like traditional markbooks.

Parent Communications Centre

We’ve added a single point of entry to manage all notifications to parents. Here you can send one-off ‘Push Notifications’ to all parents or to the parents of a group. You can also send push notifications to ‘Feeds’ that parents can use to follow a topic of interest such as the school football team.

New! Student Workbooks

My Learning has received many requests for an online student workbook where a student's files can be saved by subject and these can be viewed and marked by any teacher.

Our new student 'Workbooks' are where students can save files as a record of their work and an e-portfolio and/or as a simple online working space where the process of marking and revising work takes place.

Watch the short video below for an overview of Workbooks:
